It’s been way too long since my last post and you probably all know my excuse as to why I haven’t been very active lately. HOWEVER, I’ll go ahead and elaborate once more. I’ve been super busy with my college classes, it’s getting closer and closer to the date of when I’ll find out if I’ve been accepted to my healthcare program; So, as you can probably guess, I’m very anxious and studying is my main priority as of this moment.
Anyways, I’ll stop blathering on about my excuses and I’ll get to the point of this post!
I was recently digging through my eyeshadow drawer when I noticed that I had two bottles of liquid eyeshadow that I had never even touched!
I know, crazy right?
I ended up trying them out on a makeup look and the results really shocked me.
First off: The details…
These are from the brand: Josie Maran. They are Coconut-Watercolor Eyeshadows in the shades Beach Sand and Rio De Rose Gold (From left to right). They retail for $23.00 each and there are six different shades.
Review/Pros and Cons
- A little goes a LONG way.
- Gorgeous pigmentation
- Versatile (can also be used as a highlight)
- Very creamy and not sticky
- Very natural look
- Doesn’t run down your skin
- The packaging needs to be improved, the applicator brush broke on both bottles.
- Extremely irritating if the eyeshadow gets into your eyes, so be VERY careful when applying it.
- If you have oily eyes like me, you’ll have to prime your eyes like there’s no tomorrow.
- Does tend to crease, again, prime your eyes.

Would I repurchase these items?
I probably wouldn’t repurchase these items, mostly because Stila has came out with a better version of these. I will continue to use them though as long as I have them.
What do I like most about these products?
They are honestly gorgeous pigments. Like I said, there are other products with similar (if not better) quality, that I would enjoy. However, I do really like these shades. The shimmer is VERY dramatic and looks amazing for a glam eyeshadow look.
Least favorite thing about these products?
The fact that they are so irritating to your eye. Like, I understand that unless you literally drop the eyeshadow into your eyeball, you’ll be fine. However, the company should know better than to put harsh irritants into an eyeshadow products. There are so many potential ways that the product could EASILY end up in your eye. So that’s a bit annoying for me.
Worth the price?
I would say “maybe”, because the actual pigments themselves are really nice and long-lasting. The packaging and harsh irritants really annoy me. I think if the company paid more attention and care towards their products, they would TOTALLY be worth the price. So, depending on your personal preferences, the products COULD be worth the price.
