Easy Recipe to “Spice Up” Your Hot Cocoa | Kristen Evans

If you’re like me, then your favorite part of the holidays is a warm cup of hot cocoa. I find myself craving the liquid chocolate every time the temperature drops below 60. It somehow turns any environment into a cozy space.

I’m sure everyone on this Earth has probably already seen this recipe and I do NOT claim in any way that it is my original recipe. I just enjoy “spicing” up my regular cup of cocoa with this recipe and felt like I should share it with you all. Please enjoy.

  • One Mug (I bought mine from Target for $2; But any mug will do just fine)
  • Ground Cinnamon
  • Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup
  • Marshmallows
  • Hot Chocolate Powder
  • Milk

Step One: Pour Milk in Mug & Microwave

Even though the hot chocolate packets say that you can use either milk or water; Milk is the way to go. It creates a creamier taste than water. However, for my vegan friends, water will mix in and taste just fine.

Step Two: Add Hot Cocoa Powder and Mix

Very simple, no explanation needed. I usually pour the powder in and microwave the cup for another minute. This gets it good and hot.

Step Three: Add Marshmallows

When it comes to marshmallows, the more the merrier. Also, if you like extra-sticky marshmallows, microwave the cup for a few seconds.

Step Four: Add Chocolate Syrup

Any brand of chocolate syrup will work. I like to drizzle it on for looks, not necessarily taste.

Step Five: Sprinkle on Cinnamon

…and Viola, your masterpiece is finished!

What do you add to your hot chocolate? I would love to hear from you guys! Let me know what you think of this post!
