Shaanxo Palette Review | Kristen Evans

Hey everyone,

So if you’ve been following my Youtube, you probably already know that I’ve recently uploaded a tutorial, doing my complete eye look with the Shaanxo Palette.

I decided to post a review for this palette because I have a lot of mixed-emotions towards it. Let’s start with the details…

BH Cosmetics

The palette costs $14.50 (which is pretty reasonable) and it comes with 9 lipstick shades and 9 eyeshadow shades. So, at first glance, you’re getting your money’s worth.

Now I”m going to dive into the real pros and cons of this palette.

I LOVE the eyeshadow shades. I think they’re perfect for any eye color and they really blend well. I think this is a great dupe for the Kylie Cosmetics “The Bronze Palette”, which is around $40.00!

The colors aren’t amazingly pigmented, I would say that you really have to build your layers up to obtain an amazing finished product; However, this is something I personally like, because it allows you to work with more colors and leaves room for mistakes. What I mean by this is, some eyeshadows can come off VERY pigmented and you have to be extra careful when applying them because you can easily dab on too much and ruin your eye look.

So, if you’re like me and mess up a lot with your eyeshadow, then this is a good palette for you.

and now for the negatives…

This is where I have very mixed feelings and I hope I can explain myself clearly. So, I’m going to start off by saying that the lipsticks are very pretty shades, I think they are good quality but… I absolutely hate them. (lol!) I think this half of the palette looks like one of those makeup toys I used to buy from the dollar store when I was a little kid.

The shades look terrible on me, they don’t have a good smell, and they taste/feel waxy.

As you can tell, I am extremely disappointed in this half of the palette; especially because a MAKEUP GURU created it. If you make a living off of showing people how to do makeup, why would you create something so bad? Again, these are my personally opinions and if you disagree, feel free to let me know why.

Final Review:

With all of that being said, I think that the eyeshadow side of the Shaaanxo palette will eventually become one of my all-time favorites. HOWEVER!!! I have not tried the Kylie Cosmetics Palette, which is a very similar and more expensive palette, SO I will have to try that one out before deciding.

I think that the lipstick side of the palette is a HUGE let down and totally ruins the palette for me. I would’ve been overly happy with just the eyeshadows. So, unless you really want to try out the eyeshadows, I wouldn’t recommend this palette.

Like always, thank you all for reading and please let me know what you think! Have you tried this palette? I love hearing from you guys!! I hope you all have a great day!
