Love Yourself | Self Images.

Hey everyone,

Today I just wanted to take a break from my makeup posts to talk about something a little more serious. I’m not a dramatic person and I really don’t dwell on this a lot, but it has been so evident in my life lately that I felt the need to tell you all.

So, I want to start off by saying that as girls, we DON’T need to compete with each other. I think girls spend too much time and effort tearing each other down, when we ALL have the same insecurities.

I’ve experienced a lot of hate in my life from other girls, simply because I have learned to love myself. And I understand that to some people it can come off as “conceited”, but in all honesty, I’ve hated how I look for a LONG time and the fact that I can now confidently love myself is a real accomplishment for me. And I say all of this because I KNOW that billions of girls feel the same way.

My wish for everyone is that we can all just love one another. Not in a cheesy, cliche way either. There’s so many times that girls just bash on other girls, simply for no reason. And that hurts my heart.

Please stop comparing yourself to other girls. How can you say that one girl is prettier than another girl? What are you basing that off of?

THERE ISN’T ANYTHING/ANYONE THAT CAN DEFINE STANDARDS OF BEAUTY. PERIOD.

I hope every girl can just learn to love themselves, I’m not saying it will happen overnight, but you’ll get there, I promise.

Just please know that you are beautiful and you don’t need to hate another girl out there because you think she has something better than you. Because she doesn’t. Every girl has insecurities and it doesn’t help when others are constantly insulting or downing them.

Please spread love, not hate.

Kisses,

K.

  1. Very well said! I believe that no matter what generation, every young girl struggles through comparing themselves with their peers around them. Whether it is their siblings or just friends they’ve encountered or even just classmates. Love this post, glad to see there are females out there trying to make a difference by speaking up in this form.

    1. Thank you, I’m really hoping one day I can help make a difference with this because I’ve been bullied a lot for it. I don’t want to throw a pity party though, I just don’t want other girls to have to experience it.
